A Worthwhile Obsession- OCC Lip Tars From the Pretty Boy: F/W 2011 Colour Collection

OCC's Pretty Boy Collection boasts some of the most gorgeous and saturated colors that a girl or boy could hope to find. I limited my Obsession for the day to the Lip Tars, and quickly narrowed my choice down to three: Femme (Pale yellow-based pink), Narcissus (Creamy lavender-toned pink), and Pretty Boy (Rich saturated Fuchsia). For the Full Collection: http://www.occmakeup.com/fw2011.html

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics is a company that I can stand behind as they are 100% Vegan & Cruelty Free. Not only do they produce safe products, but they are also very easy to use and are incredibly innovative and fashion forward.

These stunning beauties are in a class of their own as they represent "a stunning new innovation in lip color, OCC Lip Tar combines the longevity of a lipstick, with the ease of application of a gloss. Goes on slick and moist, and dries down to a satin finish. Ultra-saturated in color, Lip Tar contains an unprecedented amount of pigment - a little goes a very, very long way! An intense yet featherweight layer of color that stands up to the scrutiny of Hi-Def Video and Digital Photography, without ever looking (or feeling!) heavy. Meant to be mixed, Lip Tar comes in concise array of colors for a limitless selection of shades made by you!"

They are free of parabens as well as other harsh chemicals, and they contain Hemp Oil, Peppermint Oil, and Vitamin E.

These babies are VERY concentrated- so you only want to use the smallest amount, and it works best with a lip brush (OCC recommends their #009 Angle Brush, but any will do).

A few words about usage: It's a good idea to use a lip balm first because the formula can be a bit drying; It's also a good idea to use a lip-liner because it can bleed into lip lines; Don't become disconcerted if you notice your color has separated in the tube-- simply give it a good shaking and it will quickly return to normal.

Lip Tars are meant to be mixed together to create custom colors, so don't be intimidated by some of the more vibrant and "non-traditional" colors. While you can wear any of them alone- it can be far more interesting to create your own color palette. Think of the Lip Tars as your medium and your lips as the canvas-- it is all about being creative!

OCC Lip Tars are $13.00 for a .27oz. tube. You can get them directly from OCC at http://www.occmakeup.com/  and here is the link of retailers: http://www.occmakeup.com/contact.html

I purchased mine from Nigel Beauty Emporium 11252 Magnolia Boulevard North Hollywood, Ca (818) 760-3902. If you live in the greater Los Angeles area it is worth the trip- this is a beauty insider's destination.
