Rouge Bunny Rouge For Love of Roses Original Skin Blush in Gracilis- Swatches & Review

After having been thoroughly wooed by every Rouge Bunny Rouge eye shadow that I purchased, I decided that it was time to try their blushes, particularly after reading Zuzu*s reviews at  Everyday Beauty. Of the 6 colors available I knew that I wanted to start my RBR cheek adventure with Gracilis which is a "medium rose with a hint of mauve, for a natural glow-best suited to pale, cool complexions."
And the enchanting fairytale continues with For Love of Roses Original Skin Blush:

Deep inside a labyrinth of perfectly topiaried winding lanes in the Enchanted Garden lies the Rose Orchard. The sweet and tantalising fragrance of the roses, combined with the sight of their intense pigments, provokes torturous visions of languorous beauty. The thorns of the flowers, so piercingly sharp, can slice through flesh as though it were air, and the elegant, gorgeous Floribunda-Elves are the only guardians that the roses with their poisonous thorns will allow to tend the orchard. The Floribundas perfectly preen and nurture each flower and in return, they are gifted by the roses with the most effervescent and radiant faces in the whole of the Enchanted Garden, their cheeks exuding happiness and excitement, causing many a lover to fall to his knees.
According to Rouge Bunny Rouge, Original Skin Blush blends with a sheer, melting touch for a naturally luminous silky glow. A medley of active ingredients, including Uhaloa from Hawaii, (also known as Velvet-leaf) and modern technologies impart a long term brightening effect. Indian Gooseberry Extract stands guard against free radicals. Sheer pearls amplify the creamy soft touch and ensure a limpid glow. Innovative powders entwine with your skin to preserve perfection all day long. Result is 'your skin but better' effect; you’ll wonder how you blushed before.
Everything about Gracilis is spectacular- starting from the packaging, to the floral imprint on the blush itself, and then most importantly to the quality of the product.
As one would expect from any Rouge Bunny Rouge product, the quality of this blush is also extraordinary. While this is a powder- it is so creamy, smooth and silky that you might mistaken it for a cream or a hybrid product. It is ultra finely milled and simply luxuriously soft to the touch without being unstable or crumbly. I have been applying it with my Hakuhodo 210 lately, and it simply applies like a dream. As to the color, their description could not be more perfect. It truly is a medium rose with a hint of mauve. It is an utterly perfect shade for those with cool pale skin like mine. Often times when the pigmentation mixes with one's own body chemistry the color shifts or oxidizes, but this beauty of a blush stays true to color on me from the minute that I apply it to the minute that I remove it in the evening. It offers the perfect natural flush of color (that sought after glow from within), and has a nearly matte finish. It applies so evenly and seamlessly that it quickly becomes obvious why they call it "Original Skin Blush"- because it really is that natural looking. Even upon close inspection- it never looks in the least bit powdery, glittery or unnatural, and it does not announce itself by settling into fine lines and pores.

Overall assessment: HOLY GRAIL BLUSH for me! This is blush perfection incarnate! I reach for this so often that I have to force myself to use other blushes in my stash. Next RBR blush on my list: Florita!
The pricing of RBR products is high given their luxury product status, however their products truly are worth every penny.

    1. Thanks Marcia!! :-) It is such a lovely blush, and it really is a very easy color to wear. I definitely highly recommend this one! I have to get my hands on Florita the next time Zuneta has a sale (and gets restocked on some of the things they have been sold out of for so long).
